Watching Sports

For those who prefer to watch sports rather than play there are a number of options:

Golf
A popular activity for visitors to St Andrews is to watch players coming in on the 17th and 18th holes of the Old Course or to watch them teeing off on the first hole.  Even when major golf tournaments are taking place you can still find somewhere to stop and see the action.

Soccer, Rugby, Hockey and Cricket
The University plays on pitches around the Sports Centre; School games for Madras College take place at Station Park at the western entrance to the town, usually on Saturday mornings.;  St Andrews United Football Club plays at Recreation Park in Langlands Road; Madras Rugby Club has its clubhouse at Station Park and usually plays on Saturday afternoon.

Highland Games
Once a year the St Andrews Highland Games offer a wide spectrum of sports. It takes place at the end of July.
